George Gershwin is a music composer born in September 26, 1898 in Brooklyn, New York. Since he was 15, he already likes making and composing songs. He has dreamed to be composer since he’s a child, he dreamed to be a successful popular composer like other great masters. In the age of 15, he worked as a song plugger and this is where his dream starts. Then he starts writing some songs, until in 1919 a song that he wrote called “Swanee” become a successful popular song. He also wrote and composed the “Lullaby” song. In 1920, he worked together with his friend making an experimental one-act jazz and it was showed in theatre. Since that, he’s a famous on Broadway. In 1924, he likes to write and composed comedy songs such as “Funny Face”. That comedy songs then used in musical comedy shows. With his composing talent, he’s contracted by Fox Film Corporation to write and composing songs for them. He worked there for 7 years. In 1935, he finally completed his biggest project that is called the black “folk  opera”. He reached his dreams in young age, isn’t that incredible ? The songs that he composed have been rewarded to be the best original songs by the Oscars in early 1937. But sadly few months later, Gershwin got sick and finally died in July 11, 1937.
